A Slug’s Pace

Project Details

The challenge: design a video that connects classroom students to the natural world, encouraging observation and questions. Research shows non-narrated nature videos are more effective in promoting curiosity and empathy, so Media Alley stripped it down to the basics. A control-group study in 5th grade classrooms showed significant gains in empathy and desire to know more (in addition to increased knowledge and understanding in both classrooms) by including the video in the lesson plan.
